Personal Development for Young People
What we do
Venture Scotland runs an outdoor-based personal development programme for young people aged
16-30, who face complex and difficult problems.
We build the confidence and skills of young people and aim to empower each individual we work with to make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
Our volunteering ethos
Our team of development staff work in partnership with over 120 volunteers to lead our programme. Volunteers motivate, inspire and mentor young people! We encourage young people to volunteer once they've completed our programme. This encourages them to see themselves differently and make the leap from being supported to making a contribution to others. Whilst volunteering, young people continue to receive support to access education, training and employment.
Where we work
Our programme is run out of two centres in Edinburgh and Glasgow although young people get involved from across the Central Belt of Scotland.
Our main base for residentials is a Highland bothy (mountain hut) in beautiful Glen Etive.
