Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd November, 21st Birthday Working Party, Glen Etive.

  • Installing filtration system.
  • Transporting clay sand and gravel to work site.
  • Cob mixin' masterclass with Rhyddian.
  • 'Gastro' classes - cooking of good food and fine dining... oh yes!
  • Rumford fireplace... finishing (and firing?!) the cob rumford.
  • Thatch - ah ah! Jem Cox makes a nostalgic return to fix the byre roof.  You can help him with a bit of labouring and leggeting and glean some thatching pointers.
  • We will be collecting tree seed from the local area for planting next year in the nursery.
  • Stories and tales of Venture Scotland over the years will be performed and recorded in the candlelit cob parliament.
  • Fancy dress competition saturday night... please come prepared.
  • (Fri-Sat): Big up the management committee! Kate, Brian, James, Chris, Andy and Jane Bruce will come and make the tea and do the washing up.  Bless em'.

Sat Dec 6th, 7pm, Venture Scotland Winter Ceilidh, Roxy Art House, Roxburgh Place, Edinburgh

Get your dancing shoes on for our annual Ceilidh. Brought to you by the infamous Ceilidh Collective this will be a night to remember. The Ceilidh was a complete sell out last year, so book early to avoid disappointment.Tickets are £11 full price or £6.50 for concessions. All volunteers attending will receive a voucher for a free drink!

Tickets can be bought online from www.thebooth.co.uk or from Susie’s Diner, West Nicolson Street (a small number will also be available from the VS office).

Fri 12th - Sun 14th Dec, Conservation Team Leader Training and Review, Glen Etive.

What a year its been!... this weekend will be reflexive, taking forward what works and burning the chaff in our beautiful cob parliament.

The weekend will, as always, contain an element of practical work and celebration as well as an intensive look at the compentencies and skills required of a team leader.  Expect the unexpected!
