A Brief History
Venture
Scotland was formed in 1987 by a group of young people who had been involved
in Operation Raleigh (now Raleigh International) overseas expeditions.
As part of their 'fourth challenge' with Raleigh (to share learning experiences gained on expedition with your community back home), they decided to set up a development programme
for young people in Scotland from less advantaged backgrounds.
Since its inception, Venture Scotland has been built on the efforts of volunteers from all walks of life, motivating young adults to help themselves.
