Programme Graduate Nicola Traynor Joins
Raleigh International

At Venture Scotland we always work to support our young people to move on to their next challenge after completing our courses. As you can imagine we were very excited to hear that Nicola Traynor (pictured above) , who completed our progarmme in November 2009, has been selected to take part in a 10 week Raleigh International expedition to Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
At Venture Scotland we believe that Raleigh International gives young people a whole new perspective on their own lives and is a brilliant opportunity to build on the personal development work which started with a Venture Scotland course.
Nicola will be working in a team of young people carrying out community and environmental projects. The type of works includes improving water supplies, building schools and work to preserve national park areas.
The trip is scheduled to leave early in February, but before securing her place Nicola has to raise £1,500 to cover flights, equipment and vaccinations. Nicola has organised a number of fundraising events including a sponsored bike ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh on 4th January 2010.
