Venture Scotland Staff

We are currently recruiting for the following key position:

Volunteer Coordinator

Edinburgh

£24,903-£25,716 plus 3% non-contributory pension

37 hours per week

 

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to support vulnerable young people in accessing volunteering with Venture Scotland and progression routes in the form of employment, training and education opportunities. You will also lead the coordination of volunteer leaders and mentors who support young people throughout their involvement in our programme.

 

Closing date: 10am Friday 17th February

Assessment Day: Monday 27th February

Programme Coordinator, Glasgow (currently on maternity leave)

Vicky Reed

Vicky has a passion for sailing, canoeing and all things outdoors. Keen to work with young people and volunteers looking for new challenges.

Qualifications: Mountain Leader (summer), Level 2 Canoe Coach, Trail Cycle Leader, BA Psychology and Criminology. Post Graduate Diploma in Outdoor Education. Accredited Practitioner in NLP. Certificate in Counselling Skills. Accredited Practitioner In Outdoor Learning (APIOL).

Conservation Development Worker, Glen Etive

Rhyddian Knight

Ever enthusiastic about Venture Scotland, Rhyddian is keen to see people develop through experiencing themselves in wild places!  He coordinates our working party trips.

Qualifications:  Rhydd holds a BSc (Hons) in Outdoor Studies specialising in environmental education and has been active in the field for the past ten years. He is a Level 3 Open Canoe Coach, Mountain Leader (Summer) trained and an accredited Forest School Practitioner.

Volunteer Development Worker

Niamh Condren

Niamh enjoys the occasional hike up a munro and managed to tackle Jebel Toubkal in the Atlas mountains in October... She tends to find herself hanging off a rope on the face of Ben Nevis about once a year, and recently discovered the joys of scrambling.

Niamh has worked with young people for almost 10 years. She loves being a part of VS and shares their passion, commitment and belief in young people. Her role is working with Edinburgh participants in the "community" stage of the programme, and also co-ordinating the new Volunteer Mentoring programme.

Qualifications: Post-Grad Diploma in Community Education, Certificate in Counselling, member of CLD Standards Council in Scotland.
